High Tech’s Mihir Shah Places in Top 10% in the State for Physics I

(Stewartsville, NJ–May 18, 2019)  High Tech High School junior Mihir Shah, a resident of North Bergen, has received a plaque to commemorate his placing in the Top 10% in the state of New Jersey for Physics I, announced Dr. Joseph Giammarella, Principal of High Tech High School.

Over 70 schools competed.  Shah competed in all four exams in the Science League.

Started in 1962 by Dr. Mal Sturchio as a Chemistry League, the Science League offers competitions in biology, chemistry, physics,  Earth science, and  environmental science.  Also, the Science League hosts competitions for AP levels in chemistry, biology, and physics, and provides competitions between schools in selected science areas of study.  The Science League ranks students based on their scores on three of the four exams.  Any student completing three of the four exams receives a certificate from the Science League.  The top ten percent (10%) of the students receiving a certificate also receive a student plaque.  Last year the League awarded approximately 240 student plaques.
