Sophomore Sings for Community in Jersey City

(Secaucus, NJ--October 7, 2019) Sofia Oro, a sophomore at High Tech High School’s Performing Arts Academy, performed recently at the JC Education Fair in Hamilton Park, Jersey City, announced Dr. Joseph Giammarella, Principal of High Tech High School.

Sofia, who performed at the Explore Middle School summer festival before joining High Tech High School, was selected for the JC Education Fair gig after being noticed at the “Groove on Grove” back to school emerging artists showcase. She will also perform at the upcoming 6th Annual Cultural Diversity Festival in Hamilton Park on October 13th, 2019. The JC Education Fair and the Cultural Diversity Festival are both sponsored by the JC Families organization, a non-profit organization that works to support and serve families in Jersey City and the local community.

These latest performances cap a string of local bookings for Sofia, who previously played at Barsky Gallery in Hoboken and 107 Bowers Gallery in Jersey City Heights. Sofia also has upcoming stints at Project Greenville and 107 Bowers Gallery.
