Martina Decker, Interim Chair of the School of Art and Design, and Hannah Berkin-Harper, Associate Professor of Art & Design at the Hillier College of Architecture & Design at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, attended the final presentation of Ms. Simon’s Industrial Design senior class. The students showcased their lighting design projects, which focused on creating and fabricating light fixtures using repetition and folding techniques.
The project emphasized manipulating light, material qualities—including opacity and translucency—and functional considerations. Guests provided valuable feedback, offering insights into product design and the overall design process, helping students refine their creative and technical approaches. Select lamps from the project will be on display later this year at the DFab Student Showcase on April 11th, highlighting the students' innovative work.
