High Tech students were transported into the Impressionist Movement during the French Honor Society’s Annual French Immersive Experience on Wednesday, April 17. Inspired by the famous Van Gogh Immersive Experience, members transformed the resource room into a museum of student work. A dark room featuring digital paintings from the Impressionist Movement greeted guests displayed on the walls, floors, and ceiling. The second room highlighted the works of students involved in the French and art communities at High Tech. There were also activities for students including trivia, an origami water lily station with a waterfall, a rich display of students’ haikus, and a scrambled puzzle of a student-painted The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh. The showstopper was French IV’s own Constant Kagne and his performance as a human sculpture of Auguste Rodin’s The Thinker. The students were asked to guess: “What is the Thinker thinking?”“
The museum was an exciting interactive event, educating High Tech students about the impact of the Impressionist Movement. Special thank you to Dr. Gashi and her students, Maya Geller, Ambika Rao, Muneera Munpen, Constant Kagne, Pierina Melo, Alexander Pereyra, Madison Chambers, and Bianca Faria for making this event a huge success!!
