(Secaucus, NJ–September 26, 2019) Students from High Tech’s class of 2023 got to know each other—and some of their older peers—during an early-year student mixer for all freshmen, announced Dr. Joseph Giammarella, Principal of High Tech High School.
The High Tech High School Peer Leadership group, which includes upperclassmen from all of High Tech’s academies, hosted the attendees in the Resource Center of the Frank J. Gargiulo Campus. The Peer Leaders led freshmen through interactive games designed to cultivate school spirit and have fun in order to build lasting relationships. The mixer was purposefully planned to coincide with High Tech’s annual Club Fair, so students were able to build connections with their peers while expanding their extracurricular horizons in the same afternoon.
Ms. Valeria Arias, who heads up the Peer Leadership team and serves as the school’s social worker and anti-bullying specialist said, “I am so proud of this group for putting together such a fun and interactive event. It looks like the class of 2023 is off to a great start.”
