Congratulations to High Tech High School senior Performance Division Dance major, Gabriela Guadalupe, for her choreography being selected for the Regional High School Dance Festival in Norfolk, Virginia. She was cordially invited to present her dance, GLITTER, at the festival’s Friday evening Gala performance on March 8, 2024.
Her choreography was selected for its demonstration of artistic merit based on the dance’s theme, development, composition, invention and performance. They had an overwhelming response of submissions from high schools all over the country.
Festival committee leader, Deborah Thorpe, also stated that Gabriela will also be considered for receiving the Outstanding Student Choreography Award which will be announced live at the festival.
Veteran HTHS dance instructor, Trista DeFilippis, adds
“this is truly quite an accomplishment for any dancer to have their work recognized by other professionals in the field. Gabby’s piece, which was presented on our stage last April in Atlas, showcases her precision of movement, innate sense of musicality and her creative eye. I am so proud of her!”
