Two seniors from the D|Fab Computer Programming program at High Tech High School, part of the Hudson County Schools of Technology, have been named recipients of the highly competitive Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship.

Maximus Elmorry and Yousef Mohammed were selected for the national award, which provides up to $40,000 toward a degree in computer science or a related field, along with a paid internship at Amazon. They are students of D|Fab Computer Programming CTE instructors Lisandra Docampo and Bushra Javed. Mohammed will attend Cornell University, where he plans to pursue a degree in Information Science and Applied Economics, while Elmorry will attend Harvard University, where he will pursue a degree in Computer Science.

The announcement was made during a surprise presentation on April 15, 2026, for all D|Fab Computer Programming seniors. The event featured Sufyan Waryah, a New York University student, Amazon Future Engineer Scholar, and Scholar Ambassador, who shared insights on transitioning to college, managing coursework, and pursuing internships and other opportunities in the field. Elmorry and Mohammed were recognized in front of their peers and presented with Amazon packages containing their official scholarship materials.

“I’m incredibly honored to receive the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship,” said Elmorry. “It not only supports my education in computer science but also empowers me to keep building solutions that create real impact in my community.”
