On June 10th, the Award Ceremony for the Student Haiku Contest 2023 was held at the United Nations International School (UNIS). This annual event is also hosted by the Northeast Council of Teachers of Japanese (NECTJ) and the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations. Students and teachers worldwide submit their haiku in English, Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian, etc. The 18th Annual Haiku Contest held this year received 1053 Haiku from students and teachers.
Ambassador YAMANAKA Osamu attended the Award Ceremony held at UNIS and gave remarks, after which the Haiku that received awards in the SDGs Division, Japanese Division, English Division, French Division, and Spanish Division were presented along with comments and feedback from judges.
