On June 8th, the Award Ceremony for the Student Haiku Contest 2024 was held at the United Nations International School (UNIS). This annual event is also hosted by the Northeast Council of Teachers of Japanese (NECTJ) and the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations. Students and teachers worldwide submit their haiku in English, Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian, etc. This year's 19th Annual Haiku Contest received over 1100 Haiku from students and teachers. Each participant was allowed to submit up to three haikus. Several of our students were selected as finalists in the Student Haiku Contest 2024.
