French Club Embarks on Educational Journey to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

On Monday, June 9th, the French Club of High Tech High School embarked on a highly anticipated and educational field trip to two iconic landmarks: Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Led by enthusiastic advisors Dr. Gashi and Miss. Guzman, the excursion provided students with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a significant piece of American history and reinforce the strong bonds of Franco-American friendship.

The day began with a meaningful visit to Ellis Island, where students explored the Immigration Museum. This stop offered a poignant look into the experiences of millions of immigrants who passed through its halls, providing a deeper understanding of the diverse tapestry of American society and the historical journey of many French individuals to the United States.

Following their time at Ellis Island, the students boarded a boat to the Island of the Statue of Liberty. Upon arrival, they delved into the Statue of Liberty Museum. The museum offered comprehensive insights into the ambitious project's conception and finalization, highlighting the enduring relationship and friendship between France and America. Students learned about the collaborative efforts and shared ideals that brought "Liberty Enlightening the World" to life, a powerful symbol of freedom and democracy.

"This trip was an incredible learning experience for our students," said Dr. Gashi. "It brought to life the historical significance of these monuments and truly emphasized the deep-rooted connection between our two nations."

Miss. Guzman added, "Witnessing the students engage with the exhibits and discuss the Franco-American alliance firsthand was truly rewarding. It solidified their appreciation for the cultural ties we explore in the French Club."

The French Club extends its gratitude to Dr. Gashi and Miss. Guzman for organizing this memorable and educational outing, which enriched the students' understanding of history, immigration, and international relations.
