Only two weeks after our successful run of Radium Girls, High Tech Theatre Arts improvisers performed in our Annual Improv show, consisting of original skits and live improvisation performances created by each of the four Theatre Classes.
The show followed an SNL style format that started with the typical Cold Opening, performed by Aidan Chapas, Gabriela Diaz, Roman Arizmendi, Nel Mickiewicz, and Aylah Dornbos and ended with Weekend Update hosted by Senior and joke writers Aidan Chapas and Roman Arizmendi. The musical guest was Jillian Vega who performed Are You Bored Yet? and Good Luck Babe.
The Senior class performed in a variety of skits, among which the Button was a particular crowd pleaser. Other seniors performing were Andrew Morgado, Elanie Benitez, Isabella Conde, Makayla Jones, Gabriela Diaz, and Mystique Auguste.
A Junior skit that won the audience’s hearts was AMC in which Joon Duran played the lead, and was joined by Stefany Gomez, Alexa Rabago, Jolie Shenouda, Anthony Wenzel, Simone Pittman and Yariliz Tapia. Another favorite was Family Feud performed by the entire Junior class.
The Sophomore class performed some audience favorites as well, such as Love Island, and the Dating Show. The Sophomore performers were Anya Al Jabri, Aisha Kulenu, Sariah Rodriguez, Macaela Silva, Gabriela Alba, Chloe Pogatsias, Christie Gonzalez, Rime Nachath, Arianna Urgiles, Ingrid Sarango, Stephy-Yah-Marley St. Georges, Sofia Lennon, Hager Hassan and Naima Savre. Finally the entire Freshman class performed as well, and in particular the Grimm court had everyone laughing with Ezra Horn, Melanie Aparicio, Victoria Manzo, Bea Persson, Bei Lusky, Emiliano Marin, Simone Kang, Arlenis Almonte, Danielle Losonczy and Alicia Velez.
Ms. Shields is extremely proud of her extraordinarily creative improvisers and writers as well as the technical crew of the evening: student lighting, and sound technicians, Natalie Ortiz and Genevieve Gonzalez, under the guidance of our union Stage Technicians Mo Wade who was also our Lighting Designer, Gennaro Ilaria our production supervisor, and our technical director Jeremy Falzone.
Thank you to all performers and crew for such a fun performance!
