Students from High Tech High School have received Honorable Mention in the 2025 AATF Grand Concours, a national French competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF).
The AATF Grand Concours is a national competition that assesses students' knowledge of the French language and Francophone cultures. Students from across the United States and abroad participate.
"I am incredibly proud of my students' performance in the Grand Concours," said Dr. Laje Gashi. "Their success is a testament to their hard work and the dedication of our French program."

High Tech's French program goes beyond traditional language instruction, encouraging students to engage with French culture through a variety of activities. In addition to participating in the highly regarded Grand Concours, students also participate in cultural activities such as visiting museums, creating collages of French culture, and more. The program emphasizes a holistic approach to language acquisition, fostering not only linguistic proficiency but also a deep appreciation for the diverse cultures of the French-speaking world. Students develop their skills through interactive lessons, cultural projects, and real-world applications of the French language.
The AATF was founded in 1927 and has nearly 10,000 members. It is dedicated to promoting the study of French language and literature in the United States.
